The tradition of cliff diving goes back to 1934, when two neighbors of Acapulco challenged themselves to show their courage and decided to measure their forces by throwing themselves into the sea from the top of a cliff. This Acapulco tradition will take place every night from La Quebrada's daunting clifftops in Old Acapulco. Start right from the lobby of your hotel where your friendly and knowledgeable driver/ guide will punctually pick you up for your adventure. Drive to the west coast of the city and out of the Bay of Acapulco to the El Mirador. Along the way, your guide will tell you everything there is to know about the city of Acapulco and the show you are about to witness. Have a nice table with a great view reserved so you can admire the world-renowned High Cliff Divers of La Quebrada. Two domestic drinks (cocktails, wine or beers) will be included.
Watch the best show in Acapulco at La Quebrada, where native high-cliff divers risk their lives in the most amazing display of bravery. Your knowledgeable tour guide will tell you about the different sectors you will pass through on the way to see the dives and will share with you all there is to know about this unmissable show. You will watch 5 divers jumping from different heights, including one from the topmost cliff, standing at 136-feet high. Your guide knows the best spots to watch the diving so you don't miss a thing. Enjoy a drink as you watch the show. When the show is over, head back to either your hotel or the cruise ship terminal from where you started.
Once on board, you will head to the older part of town, driving all along the main avenue as your guide will thoroughly be sharing with you all there is to know about this iconic show. If you come to Acapulco and you do not see the divers, you did not come to Acapulco. Learn about how this great spectacle was originated. You will be able to see at least 5 divers jumping from different heights and at least one from the top of a 136 feet (~41 meters) high cliff, the others will be doing the dive from different altitudes. Your knowledgeable guide will personally show you where you can see the show better. Whenever the show is over, your guide will head back to the hotel or your cruise ship terminal where you started.
