Full description
On this full-day adventure you will get to explore the best of the UNESCO certified and other historical sites of ancient Kyoto. Beginning from either Osaka or Kyoto, the first stop will be Kiyomizu-dera Temple. From this, reach the most famous UNESCO sites in Kyoto, where you can take in a panoramic views of the city below from the temple's position high on Higashi-yama hill. Then visit Sanju-san-gen-do Temple, known for the 1001 statues, specifically the Thousand Armed Avalokiteshvara statue, before moving on to Fushimi Inari Taisya-Senbon (Thousand) Torii. This stop on gives you a chance to visit the Inari Shrines, which host the guardian Gods for business success, familial well-being, traffic safety and improvement in performing arts, as well as allow you a photo opportunity at the Thousand Torii Gates.  Following this visit, you will enjoy a break at Arashiyama where you can enjoy a Japanese style lunch if you choose. After lunch, the day continues with visits to Togetsu-kyo Bridge, Sagano Bamboo Forest and Tenryu-ji Temple. All three of these locations offer some of the most picturesque views of the surrounding city. The final stop of your day will be at Rokuon-ji Temple, known locally as Kinkaku-ji or the Golden Temple. This final stop is yet another UNESCO site, and certainly worth visiting before you return to either Kyoto or Osaka after a full day of seeing some of the most note-worth sites in Kyoto.

Lanny did a fantastic job with us in Kyoto! She gave us each some time 10-30 mins after to have a quick break for us to go and see/snack on other places we saw around the main sites which was very nice & gave us more time to enjoy. I highly recommend this tour! We miss you Lanny, this is Lynna (the girl with the purple hair & glasses) :) You helped us enjoy parts of Kyoto & explained more to us than if we tried to travel on our own. We really appreciated the air conditioned/heated coach bus also, thank you!

The tour met my expectations. Our tour guide Jung did an excellent job giving us the history of each sites. He personally approached us and accommodated request for picture taking. I’m glad we did the package with the lunch included, that was an experience as well. Overall it was an excellent experience and touched most of the Kyoto’s highlights.

Great one day tour of the historical sites. They take you to some of the sites on the outskirts of the city, which could be troublesome to do on your own. Most likely, one would not cover all these sites on their own, in one day Thanks Jorge for sharing your insight at each of the sites. Highly recommend.
