Full description

After pickups from Kusadasi hotels you will drive you to Pamukkale. Along the way, be amazing by the views of beautiful Turkish villages.

After a 2-hour drive, you will arrive at Pamukkale, located in the province of Denizli. This natural wonder is comprised of terraces and travertine formed by hot springs and streams depositing carbonate minerals. Pamukkale has gained eminence for its waters which are believed to have curative powers and have been used as a thermal bath for centuries. Located near Pamukkale, Hierapolis was established in 200 BC by Eumenes II in dedication to the Amazon Queen Hiera. The city which fell under the rule of the Turks in the 9th century still preserves its value and significance, welcoming thousands of visitors to its ancient monuments and natural wonders every year, Pamukkale is waiting to welcome you as well.

Due to health problems we were not able to attend the tour on the originally agreed day, but the organizer (Mr Mustafa) allowed us to postpone it for one day. The pick up time from our hotel was prompt. The guide did not speak good English but was very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival in Pamukkale we had a brief tour of the area, followed by 2.5 hours of free time to see travertines and Hierapolis or swim in the Cleopatra Pool. Before returning to Kusadasi, we stopped for lunch and visited an onix factory.

Görkan was a good guide, knowledgeable, and we had plenty of time to look around Pamukkale and the ancient city. The bus trip was long but there's not much the tour can do about that. We stopped at a tourist trap shop as expected (an onyx shop) however the staff were not overly pushy which was a nice change. The lunch was average but for the price I didn't expect much else.

We enjoyed the tour

First we were picked up in time at our hotel. We made the tour with some other people from different nationalities. The guide (Emre) spoke English very well and had a good sense of humor, so the time flew. During the bus tour with some breaks, he gave us a lot of information about the history of Turkey. Pamukkale itself was worth seeing, but the pools were really busy. Thanks to Emre we had a nice day! René (from the Netherlands)
