We were picked up at the designated place and whisked away on the 25 minute journey in a lovely clean car. The mines themselves are like nothing I've ever encountered or even imagined! The tour guide was full of insights about the rooms as well as life down in the mines. There is ALOT of stairs (all going down) and you cover alot of distance so comfortable shoes are a must! At the end our driver met us and took us back to where we were picked up.
From the beginning it was worth the money and time 100%! Very professional, a truely full programme not to be missed! Our tour guide Eva was fantastic! Polite, kind , full of knowledge and enthousiasm, together with our driver Peter, who was making every effort to make our journey as comfortable , punctual and enjoyable as possible! I would definately recomment this tour to everybody! Well done guys! Greetings from Cyprus, Chrystalleni!
This was an excellent day ! I very nearly didn’t book it but so glad I did . From visiting a small village , crossing into Slovenia , visiting a shepherds hit and tasting local cheese to the funicular ride it was all amazing . Even though it was overcast the mountains were a majestic sight. Adam our guide was superb and managed the day professionally but in a relaxed and entertaining way - 10/10 to Adam and 10/10 for the tour
Be aware that at the start of the tour, there are a lot of wooden stairs to descend. I felt a bit panicked at first but it was fine, people took their time. As you go down, there are numbers on the wall. The bottom of the stairs is number 54, each flight was 6 steps. There is a lift at the end of the tour to bring you back up. And there's a restaurant in the mine to rest and have something to eat. It's worth the effort.
Expect lots of walking, but nothing unbearable (had elderly and kids in my group and they were perfectly fine). Most of us took out our coats and jackets during the tour as it gets warm - 2 to 3 layers would be perfect. Tour guide was humorous yet informative; pace was perfect as well. Highly recommended!
