Full description
Journey back to the dark days of World War II and learn the inspiring story of Oskar Schindler at Oskar Schindler's Factory Museum. Enter a modern museum devoted to the wartime experiences of the 5-year Nazi occupation of Poland during World War II. Located in the former enamel factory of the industrialist who famously saved the lives of over 1,000 people during the Holocaust, the site and story were brought into the limelight by Steven Spielberg's 1993 Oscar-winning movie "Schindler's List." Still on the site of the original administrative building of the factory on Lipowa Street, the museum tells the individual histories of Kraków's wartime inhabitants, the fate of the Jews and the city’s underground resistance to the Nazi occupation. See archival documents and photographs of the time, and listen to radio and film recordings that bring the story to life. Admire period artifacts and marvel at the dynamic multimedia installations in the museum.

I found the experience a very humbling although as I have a mobility problem I found the climb up to the start a bit harrowing. I wasn’t aware there was a lift up to the start, which could have helped. I also felt the guide rushed the the story he didn’t wait until the whole group was in place to hear him he just kept talking as the rest of party cought up. I realise the place was busy but a little patience would have helped. In hindsight I would have done the tour on our own

The experience overall was good, the guide was a few minutes late but all was ok in the end. The guide was very informative but I felt a little rushed through the museum, feeling I didn’t get to see everything as the guide was under pressure to keep moving due to other parties being behind us. I would of been nice if we was able to retrace our steps once the guide had finished. Overall the tour was good.

The museum was more about Polish Occupation then Schindler. It was very interesting still. We booked with a guide and it was very busy upon arrival and we just got a locker in time (free) to ut our coats in. The tour guide was very informative but you do not get headsets it iwas sometimes hard to hear clearly above the audio being played in each exhibit. We completed the guided tour and after we realised that we should have returned to the beginning ourselves and went around again to read, look and listen to everything we passed through without stopping on the tour as there was quite a bit you don't get the chance to see. Possibly our fault but it wasn't suggested to us to do it.
