  • See dozens of sculptures and bas-reliefs cut out of the salt
Full description

Auschwitz-Birkenau is the largest death camp in human history, the site of mass destruction and genocide in Europe during World War II. Currently camp Auschwitz-Birkenau is a synonym for world’s most cruel terror, genocide and atrocities.

The camp was built by the Nazis in 1940 in the suburbs of Oswiecim. The total number of deaths and executions is estimated to be over 1.5 million people of 28 nationalities. Almost 90% of these people were Jews.

The former concentration camp leaves a deep impression, partly because it allows you to imagine the scale of the Holocaust. Since 1979 this site has been listed on the UNESCO Cultural and Natural World Heritage list.

After your visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau, head to the Wieliczka salt mine, one of the most treasured monuments in Polish cultural history. Over a million tourists from around the world visit the salt mine yearly to see its exquisite carvings and reliefs.

This unique place is listed on the UNESCO Cultural and Natural World Heritage List since 1978 placing it even higher on tourists' "to-do list". The miners left dozens of sculptures and bas-reliefs cut out of the salt, keeping their work alive for many further years.

There are 800 steps to climb of which 350 at the beginning take you down into the mine. There's a lift to the top of the mine at the end of the route.

Excellent tour from start to finish, received a message the day before saying pick up was 2 hours earlier due to the museum being busy, this worked really well as had time to take everything in without feeling rushed, our driver Luke was brilliant and was waiting whenever when came off a tour. Auschwitz tour was very sobering and interesting at the same time, our guide was very knowledgeable, got to see both of the 2 concentration camps. Had an hour for lunch at a nice restaurant before heading to the salt mines, these were incredible to see the craving in the salt rocks before being dropped off at our hotel on time, would definitely recommend

Fantastic trip from pickup to drop off back at the Hotel. Collected from hotel and shown a video on route which was very informative. The guides were excellent providing detailed information at both activities. We were transported efficiently between activities and had comfort breaks along the way. I would highly recommend visiting both these activities.

Picked up at our hotel and taken to a bigger bus, was fab from beginning to end. Doing all 3 in the same day was exhausting, 815 steps to go down in the Salt Mine, jelly legs . Auschwitz and Birkenau were sad but the guide was great at explaining the history of it all, was very harrowing but interesting. Would defo recommend
