Start with pickup from your hotel, apartment, or other place of your choice in Krakow at the time you specify. From there the duration of the trip from Krakow to Zakopane is approximately 2 hours. About 20 minutes from Zakopane lies the town of Chochołów. This village is famous for its wooden houses which look almost identical. Settlers have traditionally washed the wooden walls of buildings with soap, which happens twice a year in the periods before Christmas and Easter. Thanks to this cleaning, the buildings that are many years old look like new. In the vicinity of Chochołów there are places where highlanders produce sheep's cheese traditional to this region of Poland. The mountains are beautiful and as it was April there was still snow on the tops. The smoked cheese tasting was excellent and we had a lovely chilling end of the day relaxing at the thermal pools overlooking the mountains. Gregor was an excellent guide sharing his knowledge and giving us plenty of time .
