Full description

Go on a full-day history tour of Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Museum, where the infamous WWII concentration camps once operated. Learn about this part of world history with a licensed guide, who will explain the significance of these camps.

Head out of Krakow in a comfortable air-conditioned minivan to first visit KL Auschwitz 1. Walk through the iron gate bearing the notorious slogan Arbeit Macht Frei, which means Work Sets You Free. See 22 brick barracks where hundreds of thousands of victims of the Holocaust were placed in.

Next, make your way to block 11, the so-called prison within the prison. Block 11 contained special torture chambers where various punishments were inflicted to prisoners. The first extermination attempts using Zyklon B took place in this block, and the only crematorium and gas chamber that are still standing are located at the end of the camp.  After the visit to KL Auschwitz 1, travel in the minivan to KL Auschwitz 2 Birkenau. This part of the camp is 25 times larger than Auschwitz 1, and was the largest of the concentration camps. Over 1 million people died here.

End your visit at the Memorial and pay your respects to all of the victims of the genocide before heading back to Krakow.

insanely well organised. I was called + got a message the day before for the exact pick up location and time (we had to walk like 4 minutes). The bus then left on time, our guide picked us up in front of the bus, we visited Auschwitz first, then a short bus drive to Birkenau. 20 minutes after we left back to Auschwitz and around 7.5 hours later we were back home.

Organization: I had to call the organization, not having any news (I think that by reserving a Sunday for Monday, a little normal) One hour shift from the start, without really embarrassment. Transfer: The driver was at the time and place of the meeting that I agreed, so perfect. The driver explains everything perfectly in English Tour: Interesting, it's part of the story. Guide that explains perfectly. However, we did not visit all the buildings, for lack of time I think, a bit of a shame
