  About half way along the coast between Than Bok Khorani and Krabi town is a bay of mangroves that is one of the most beautiful in Thailand. Arrive at the private pier and depart to the mangrove forest area. Here, bays and canyons are like passageways. This recently discovered area is a superb setting for having an encounter with an ecosystem unlike others. This bay is known for its rich fauna. Certainly a highlight of this setting is the narrow channels which are passable during all but extremely low tide periods. Several species of Kingfishers, Little Herons and Crab-Eating Macaques are almost guaranteed sightings in the remains of a jewel of a destination, undeveloped and without being horrendously crowed.   2. From Phi Phi: Half-Day Private Longtail Boat Charter

  Depart from Ao Tonsai Pier and start your tour with a visit to Monkey Beach, to snorkel in the turquoise waters and watch the naughty monkeys on the shore. See the mysterious Viking Cave and admire the wall painting within, before continuing to one of Phi Phi's most beautiful gems, the Pileh Lagoon. Snorkel in the turquoise lagoon surrounded by towering limestone cliffs, then sail to the crystal clear waters of Lo Samah Bay to discover the abundance of marine life and colorful corals there. The last stop will be just outside Maya Bay, the iconic site made famous by Leonardo Di Caprio in “The Beach.” On the afternoon charter, catch stunning views of the sunset as you head back to Tonsai Pier.

  Good time. The beginning is the only part that was terrible. The booking was for 1:30; and we were told to arrive a few minutes early. So we did; and then sat in the heat for an hour with no one in sight to ask what was going on/ what to do. Very, very disorganized. But once we went out; the trip was fun and our guide was very nice. He jumped in the water when we snorkeled and brought us over to an area where we saw reef sharks! He was great. Trip was great, saw a bunch of cool stuff including a beautiful sunset on the water.

  3. From Krabi: Phi Phi Island Full-Day Private Speed Boat Tour
