Full description
On the day of your visit, get picked up from your accommodation and drive to Ao Nang Elephant Sanctuary. There, you will be met by your English-speaking guide and learn about the history of elephants in Thailand, their behavior, what they eat, and their individual stories. After being allocated bananas to feed to the elephants, you will be able to feed free-roaming elephants and learn about their individual stories. You can touch, feed, photograph, and interact with the elephants at your leisure while you learn about their stories, lifestyle, and behaviors. Most of the elephants are rescued logging or riding elephants, but they are now safe and well cared for at this no-riding sanctuary. After you have met all the elephants, watch them enjoy their mud spa and join them. The elephants apply mud on their skin as a healthy sunscreen and mud treatment. Next, walk with the elephants, bathe them, and join them in the water for a refreshing cool-off. Brush the elephants while they frolic and play in the water and watch them enjoy being pampered. Once the elephants are clean, you can take some final photos with them, and then it will be time to part ways and change into some dry clothes. Finally, enjoy some seasonal fresh fruits and coconut water before your transfer back to the hotel.

Absolutely a great experience. Feeding these elephants by hand, mud bathing them, washing them was hard to describe. You will know when you are eye to eye with them. Please go and see the care and love these people have for these huge animals. I learned so much about them. Your entry fee helps feed the elephants during this very slow time.

The whole day was great. The sanctuary got us to interact with each other as well which is great if you’re a single traveller. You can really see that the elephants are looked after well. The relationship between the carers and animals was a joy to see. I’ll definitely tell stories of this place to people! I hope someone with a lot of money Cana eventually help this sanctuary expand and purchase new equipment.
