Historic Oatman Mining Town and Route 66 Experience

4. Historic Oatman Mining Town and Route 66 Experience

Departing from Las Vegas, your adventure begins the moment you board our comfortable passenger vehicle. Our tour guide’s ancestral roots in the area date back to the 1800’s, and his family’s vintage collections have been featured in Mohave Museum of History and Arts exhibitions, making him the perfect escort for your day out. First stop is the Powerhouse Visitors Center/Arizona Route 66 and Electric Vehicle Museums. You’ll discover a variety of vehicles, photographs, and artifacts gathered over the history of ‘The Mother Road’. Next, we stop at Cool Springs Service Station. Built in the mid-1920's, Cool Springs was born on Route 66 and remains an antiquated spawn of the Mother Road today. Then, we take the Route 66 Black Mountain scenic 8-mile stretch to Oatman, known as the Sidewinder, which has 191 curves, turns and switchbacks. The views from the Sitgreaves Pass during your travel of the Black Mountains, which borders the eastern shore of the south-flowing Colorado River from Hoover Dam, are simply stunning. Finally, we reach Historic Oatman in time to stroll around the vintage shops, meander with the burros and experience the 'High Noon' gunfight reenactment.

Incredible experience with the stopover in the canyon! Highly recommended a really impressive adventure. The price is absolutely okay for what you get to see. Next time I would book with meals (in the canyon) because it was really hot and I forgot my water.

Our Grand Canyon experience with Bob was wonderful. We had a great time and Bob was very professional, informative and flexible. Certainly lunch with Cowboy Dave added an unexpected flare to the trip. Thank you,

Enjoyed this tour immensely. The Grand Canyon view was awesome! Our guide was informative, funny and extremely helpful as I needed to use my walker wherever we went

It was an awesome tour. Bob went out if his way to make sure we had a great experience!
