Get picked up at 3:00 AM from your hotel in Kigali and travel northwest to Mghahinga National Park for approximately 3 hours. Enjoy breakfast served ala-carte style with a variety of fresh pieces of bread, pastries, and hot and cold selections at a hotel close to the park.   Make a brief stop at the border to clear with customs and then continue to the National Park headquarters to meet your guides for the day. Embark on a once in a lifetime experience of tracking mountain gorillas. The trekking may be fairly strenuous; up to 3 hours or longer at a relatively high altitude.  Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. Embark on a full-day safari adventure in Akagera National Park, known for its varied terrain of savannah and wetlands which makes the park home to a wide variety of fauna. Spot exciting wildlife such as the Big 5 and big cats on your game drive and enjoy the magnificent views of the natural surroundings. Meet your small group early in the morning (around 5 AM) and hop in the van which will take you straight to Akagera National Park. After a short introduction and safety briefing, you'll have time to get comfortable before heading out in search of the Big 5. Explore routes less traveled in your game viewing 4x4 with your experienced guide tracking the animals you want to see. Encounter wildlife such as elephant, buffalo, wildebeest, kudu, and of course lion, leopard, and cheetah. Akagera National Park lies in eastern Rwanda, hugging the border with Tanzania. It's characterized by woodland, swamps, low mountains, and savannah. The varied terrain shelters wildlife including zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, and hundreds of bird species, such as the rare shoebill stork. In the southern part of the park, vast Lake Ihema is home to hippos and crocodiles. Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park The tour will start and end in Kigali. Our driver will pick you from your Hotel or Lodge (after having breakfast or with packed breakfast) at 4:30 am to start on your 2.5 hours journey to Volcanoes National park. The journey to Volcanoes national park takes an average of 2-3 hours and on reaching the park offices, you will be briefed by park officers and then assigned to a gorilla group to track. You will then be led into the forest by a ranger guide to tracking the primates. Gorilla trek may take between 1 hour to 8 hours depending on the movements of the primates. However, upon locating the gorillas, you will then spend 1 hour with them. Enjoy the unique adventure and you can take pictures. After the 1 hour which seems to be like minutes, then we trek back out of the forest and then transfer back to Kigali. Meal plan: Lunch

Day 1: Kigali to Musanze Start with pickup from your hotel or the airport in Kigali. Meet your driver-guide who will brief you about the itinerary for the 2-day tour. First, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Learn about the horrors of the 1994 Rwandan genocide, which claimed the lives of members of the Tutsis and Twa ethnic groups. Travel north to Volcanoes National Park, located 80 kilometers from Kigali. Visit the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Take some scenic photos and try to spot a variety of native birds who inhabit the marshlands. Enjoy an overnight stay in your hotel, where you can rest for the second day. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch. Enter the forest and begin your quest to spot gorillas in their natural habitat. Depending on the movements of the gorillas, this portion of the tour can take between 2 and 6 hours. Once you spot these amazing animals, enjoy up to one hour of observing their behaviour. Day 1:  After breakfast in the morning, meet your driver/guide at your hotel in Kigali and set off for Akagera National Park. Drive for around 2.5 hours admiring the beautiful scenery during the journey. Feel free to ask the guide to make a stopover at any point to take photos. When you arrive at the park, take a short game drive then proceed to your accommodation to check-in. After lunch,  take a boat trip on Lake Ihema to watch hippos and crocodiles basking in the water or by the shores. First, read to the park headquarters where you will be allocated a guide and briefed before heading into the forest. Trek to 1 of the 10 habituated gorilla families in Rwanda on this exclusive tour; only 8 people are able to trek each gorilla family. Travel through the forest in the company of your experienced ranger while searching for the mountain gorillas. It may take between 2 to 6 hours to locate these great apes, depending on their movement across up to 40 km of territory. The park rangers and guides will clear the way and assist you through the forest. Once a gorilla group is located, spend an hour with them as they move, feed, play and rest. Experience sitting with the animals - one of the most amazing and unique wildlife encounters you will ever have. Finally, transfer back to your hotel in Kigali where your tour concludes.

Day 1 After getting picked up from your hotel in Kigali in the morning, begin the journey to Akagera National Park. Upon arrival at the park, proceed to the hotel for check-in and later enjoy an evening game drive. Day 2 Enjoy an early-morning breakfast before your half-day game drive in an open-roofed vehicle begins. Spot a variety of game including elephants, buffalos, hippos, lions, Masai giraffe, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchel’s zebra, topi, bush baby, leopards, and bushbuck. DAY 1 - Kigali • Bwindi National Park Morning: Around 9am, we'll set of for Bwindi Nat Park, from Rwanda and travel northwest for approximately 3 hrs. You have a brief stop at the border to clear with customs and then continue your lodge. Depending on which hotel we stay at, we’ll likely be minutes from the main gate of Bwindi National Park Park. Lodge amenities may include a restaurant and bar. Rooms include a private bath with shower. You’ll have time to settle in before dinner. DAY 2 - Mountain gorilla trek and Transfer back to Kigali Activity Note: Today’s mountain gorilla trek typically involves two to four hours of walking through thick brush over steep, rugged terrain at elevations ranging from 7,000 to 9,000 feet —and can include exposure to stinging nettles and re ants. As overexposure to humans is harmful to mountain gorillas, contact is limited to one hour—and there is the possibility that they may become agitated and retreat back into the bush in less than our allotted time. Any travelers showing signs of obvious illness may be refused entrance by park authorities. Breakfast: Served buffet-style at the lodge, beginning at 6am. Morning: At about 7:30am, we take a drive of about 30 minutes to the National Park headquarters at to meet your guides for the day. After completing our park formalities, we are embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long lost cousin. This is perhaps one of the most breath-taking experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare at each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. These massive primates are extremely rare, with less than 1000 living today. You will get within meters of the family, and be privileged to spend an hour amongst them. The trekking may be fairly strenuous; up to 3 hours or longer at a relatively high altitude. It is important to bring good hiking boots, long trousers, gloves for protection against stinging nettles, some snacks & sweets (for you, not the gorillas) as well as sufficient water as the rain forest gets hot and humid during the day. You will spend one hour with the gorillas, but it is an hour you will never forget. Depending on the length of our trek, groups will return to our lodge by about 1pm. Afternoon: Return back to Kigali and drop off at your hotel or airport for flight back home.

• Day one: Transfer from Kigali to Musanze Begin the experience with a Kigali city tour, visiting interesting spots like the craft market, the Gisozi genocide memorial site, and Kigali Museum. Following, embark on a two-hour drive to Musanze, stopping at Red Rocks Intercultural Exchange Center for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the IbyIwacu Cultural Village to learn about Rwanda's pre-colonial history through a series of demonstrations and activities. Try your hand at archery, learn local food preparation techniques, become familiar with traditional medicines, and even act as king or queen for the day. Overnight at The Garden Place Hotel. • Day three: Gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch early enough to be briefed on the code of conduct while with the gorillas. Then, enter the forest in search of the gorillas, which may take two to six hours depending on their movement through the jungle. Meet and stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour. Overnight at The Garden Place Hotel. • Day four: Musanze - Kigali - Akagera National Park Wake early and have breakfast before checking out from the lodge. After that, your driver-guide will transfer you to Akagera National Park through Kigali. Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge. • Day five: Game drive and boat ride in Akagera National Park Enjoy an early morning breakfast and start your day of game-spotting in an open-top vehicle. A half-day game drive here grants you the opportunity to spot a variety of game including elephants, buffalos, hippos, lions, Masai giraffe, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchel’s zebras, topis, bush babies, leopards, bushbuck, and more. Continue with a boat trip after lunch on Lake Ihema for a close encounter with the crocodiles and hippos along the river banks. Look up to witness the large concentration of over 525 bird species both migratory and Savanna-related. Unique species such as shoe billed stocks and papyrus gonolek may be encountered. Endemic species include the jacanas, ibis, sand pipers, and herons.
