Full description

Care for gentle elephants at an elephant rescue center in the Khao Sok National Park. Interact with your new friends as you help to wash them, and feed them their favorite snacks. Afterward, enjoy a Thai cooking class and a relaxing bamboo rafting adventure.

Start your adventure early with pickup from your hotel in Khao Lak or Khao Sok. Enjoy the sights of local life in the southern part of Thailand as you drive to your first stop, the Khao Sok Viewpoint. Enjoy panoramic views over the national park, and a perfect photo opportunity.

Next, visit an elephant sanctuary and meet the friendly giants. Hear about their individual stories and how they were rescued.

Learn how to make a medicinal meal for the elephants from the professional mahout (elephant carer), then bathe the elephants in a fun mud spa. Lastly, feed them from your own hands while taking some charming photos with your new buddies. From here, head to a local restaurant and learn how to cook authentic Thai food, to be served for your lunch as a delicious southern Thai set lunch.

Then, set off on your next adventure along the peaceful and lush Sok River with bamboo raft paddlers. Admire stunning views of dramatic towering mountains, and maybe catch a glimpse of the various birds, reptiles, wild orchids, and monkeys that call the area home. Take a well-deserved break on the river banks and enjoy fresh coffee made from bamboo. After your adventurous day, hop back on the van and make your last quick stop at Mea Yai waterfall before transferring back to your hotel.

We had the tour with Jum and her team (driver and German speaking guide). We were picked up on time in a comfortable minibus. At the first stop in Takua Pa we had time to explore a typical Thai market without "tourist junk". Then we went to the Thongsuk Elephant Park, where we were allowed to take care of 2 elephants with 6 people. Food preparation, feeding, mud bath and subsequent cleaning in the river were unforgettable highlights that the guides captured with our cameras. This was followed by a delicious and extensive lunch. Well strengthened we went to the bamboo raft trip. Definitely a "must do"! Let yourself be surprised by the coffee break in the "Jungle Starbucks". On the way home we visited the monkey temple and a great viewpoint. In a friendly, happy atmosphere, we never had the feeling of being "worked off". We can definitely recommend this boozy tour even in rainy weather.

We can highly recommend this excursion, on the one hand because of the way it was put together and on the other hand because we were lucky to be able to travel with only two guides. Our guide Wan-ny picked us up punctually at the hotel and we were guided and safely driven through the day. We started the day with a visit to the local market of Takua Pa and then continued towards the national park area of Khao Suk Sok, where a relaxed bamboo raft rafting was offered. Afterwards it was lunch time and we were guided to cook a tasty Tom Yam Gai soup. After lunch and a short break, we went to the monkey temple, where cashew nuts made the animals happy to come down from their siesta in the treetops. The highlight came at the end. The visit to the Sanctuarv Flephant Park We were allowed to get up close and personal interaction. First prepared food, then slim spa where we spread mud on her. Afterwards, she and we had a refreshing bath in the river where she was scrubbed and brushed clean.
