  • Ancient Corinth Guided Tour from Athens

    1. Ancient Corinth Guided Tour from Athens

Starting from Athens we drive by bus westwards along the scenic coast, until we reach the Corinth Canal with its breathtaking views (short stop). Shortly thereafter we reach the ancient town of Corinth (visit) where St. Paul lived and preached for two years. Back in the ancient times, Corinth was amongst the richest cities and this is quite evident by its remains, including the huge Agora (market place) and Apollo’s Temple from the 6th century B.C. We will also do a brief stop at the site of the ancient port of Kechreai where St. Paul disembarked. Finally, return to Athens in time for lunch.

After a pickup from your accommodations, take a 1-hour drive along the mainland coast to Peloponnese and have a brief stop at the Canal of Corinth. Continue on to reach Ancient Corinth, one of Saint Paul’s beloved cities. Have the chance to visit the ancient market and the Bema of Saint Paul, a large elevated rostrum standing prominently in the center of the Roman Forum of Ancient Corinth. Explore the former city-state and walk the same paths the Apostle of Nations once did and see where he preached hundreds of years ago. Next, visit the commercial town of Corinth and the Apostolos Pavlos Church, founded around 51-52 AD. Learn about Saint Paul's presence and life in the city and how he was hosted by the Jews of Achilles and Priscilla. Continue on to Kechrias Port and find out more about Saint Paul's second missionary journey and how he fulfilled a vow by shaving his head.   Conclude yo...

Our Guide Vicki did a really great job! As we drove through Athens to exit the city, she gave us details about the history of Greece, shared Greek mythology with us, and she was very knowledgeable about the this history of the various ruins. You can tell she really has a passion for the history of Greece. The tour itself was good. You get what you pay for. The stop at the Corinth Canal was shorter than I would have liked, but it is still worth it to not have to drive yourself. I think how much you enjoy this tour will depend on your guide. I was fortunate enough to have a great guide.

This is a very informative and enjoyable tour.

Approximately 6 hours on a modern comfortable tour bus with a very knowledgeable and pleasant tour guide. Extensive information was provided about Greek history, mythology, and modern times along with the details of ancient Corinth. Would have preferred a bit more private time at ancient Corinth but overall this is an excellent tour.

Excelent tour and tour guide very knowledgable.

I payed extra money for pick up from my hotel, the day before the trip I received email that I have to go to different pick up location than my hotel. It was very inconvenient for me since I was on a trip in unknown city. I asked about money return but the agency didn't want to hear about it.

The trip was excellent, we could easily find the meeting spot, our tour guide Viki was wonderful, she shared a lot of useful information and it was nice to listen to a lot stories about Corinth, Athens and whole Greece. We totally recommend this trip!!
