Cape Town: Cape Peninsula & Winelands Private Full-Day Tour

1. Cape Town: Cape Peninsula & Winelands Private Full-Day Tour

You have the freedom to choose which time you would like the tour to start. It is recommended you start at 8:30 AM, as you will want to get the most out of your day. The guided tour begins with a visit to Maidens Cove. With views of the notorious Twelve Apostles Mountain range and pristine Camps Bay penthouses, you might be tempted to relocate to Cape Town. If that isn’t enough to enthrall you, wait until you see Chapmans Peak Drive, this has to be one of the best, if not, the best mountain drive in the world. From the lookouts, you’ll be able to view the unspoiled beach of Noordhoek, the Hout Bay Harbor, and the Seal colony. Continue your tour to the Cape of Good Hope, a National Park which is the most Southern Western point of the African continent. Not too far from the Cape of Good Hope, you’ll see the warm and cold ocean currents meet at Cape Point Lighthouse. After visiting one of Africa’s well known national sights, head to Boulders Beach to see the African penguins. Here, you have the option of having a bite to eat at the Seaforth Restaurant or driving to Kalk Bay’s Harbor House. Please note; this is at your own account, and is optional. Thereafter, take a drive along Baden Powell Drive. This beautiful coastline drive offers beach and mountain views with beautiful wild flowers growing alongside the road. The scenic and seacoast drive leads you to Neethlingshof Wine and Delheim Wine Estate. Neethlingshof, in Stellenbosch, just outside the city of Cape Town, dates back to 1692. This is a perfect place for some wine tasting. The wine estate is known for its beautiful avenue of stone pines, and the beautiful surrounding mountain range. Neethlingshof boasts the finest wines including Merlot, Shiraz, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, and Sauvignon Blanc to name a few. Enjoy some wine tasting with food pairing which includes 5 bite size dishes. Your last stop for the day, Delheim Wine Estate, is situated at the slopes of Simonsberg Mountain and prides itself in its majestic surroundings. Famous for their award winning wines, such as, Pinotage Rose, Spatzendreck, and Grand Reserve, it is simply a must to indulge. Delheim Wine Estate also advises you on which wines are appropriate with food pairing. The estate offers decadent wine and cupcake pairing which is different from the usual wine and cheese combinations. If you consider yourself as a wine connoisseur, visiting these wine farms can be educational, indeed. Once your visit to these wine farms are finished, you will return back to your pick-up location along the N1 National Route. The tour concludes at around 6:00 PM.

What people are saying about Kalk Bay

The tour was good although there were too many stops so that too little time was given to each of the places we visited. I would have left the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden out and given more time for the lunch break. The stop at the Cape Point Lighthouse was too short and the bar there too crowded. The driver/tour guide Basil was extremely nice and told us lots of interesting stories about the country. He is a wonderful guide with a vast knowledge and a great attitude. The company GYG gave us 2 different pick-up times for the excursion: 7-8 am and 8-9 am. Finally the driver came at 8:45 am. He said he had been given that pick-up time. The evening before the trip I texted GYG about the pick-up time as we were confused and they confirmed that it would be 7-8 am, which finally was not correct. The same thing happened two times for two different excursions during our stay, GYG gave us 2 different times. GYG, please be more precise with the pick-up times! It can get very annoying.

Call or WhatsApp the number provided the day before travel. Our email said 6am-7am and we got picked up at 9:15am. Bruce, our guide was very knowledgeable. Weather can change and can be cooler and windy at the cape point so would advise bringing a jacket. Great tour!

Our Guide Denver was excellent. He knew his facts & did a great job keeping us entertained & up to speed on what we were viewing or about to experience. We covered so much in one day but without being rushed or feeling as though we had missed anything.

Everything was great and our guide was fantastic. My only issue was that Africa Adventures sent me a voucher which instructed us be ready at 7 am, which we were, but in reality the guide was instructed to collect us at 8:20 am.

Excellent trip to see the entire cape peninsula! Keeps you moving and on schedule to fit it into one day!
