Full description
Your tour will begin with an amazing tour of Kapsia Cave, one of the top ten caves in Greece. Located right outside the village of Kapsia, this cave is known for its complex system of natural sinkholes. Another feature of the cave is its rare colors (white, yellow, red, green, and light blue) and its abundance of stalactites and stalagmites. Neolithic fossils, human bones and skulls, and clay lamps dating back to the 4th and 5th century A.D. have also been discovered within the cave. You will then enjoy a tour of the vineyards to find out about the history and philosophy of organic farming, before you experience grape harvesting. This will allow you to get a first-hand look at the harvesting of organic grapes, straight from the vineyards. You can find out all the secrets of traditional wine making from the experts, before taking part in a local cooking class in which you will learn how to make a traditional Greek pie from scratch. You’ll then get the chance to taste your creations throughout a wine-tasting session. Following lunch, take a tour of the wine cellars and discover all the different wine varieties. You will then get a taste of the entire wine range of the winery, immersing yourself in the deep flavors and rich aromas of the 6 different wine labels. Following that, discover the flavors and aromatic petimezi (grape molasses). At this winery, this traditional Greek product and superfood is produced from organic grapes. Following that, you will enjoy a light lunch or full meal. with a full meal available from September to October, and a light lunch available the rest of the year. At the conclusion of your tour, you will be returned to your point of origin.
