Big Island Twilight Volcano and Stargazing Tour

1. Big Island Twilight Volcano and Stargazing Tour

Enjoy a fully narrated adventure starting with a stop at a Kona Coffee Farm. Walk through a lava tube and orchards with your guide to learn about the harvesting and milling process while sampling a warm cup of Kona-grown coffee. Continue through the scenic view of the Kealakekua Bay and South Point, the southernmost point of the United States. Relax at Punalu’u Black Sand Beach to spot marine life, like Hawaii’s green sea turtles, from the shore. Next, go to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Tour the Chain of Craters Road for the “mountain to sea” experience. Stop by and learn about volcanic eruptions and flow sites, the park coastline, and the Holei Sea Arch. Visit Kilauea Iki Lookout, steam vents, Halema’uma’u Crater, and crater rim trail. After enjoying dinner at a local café near the park, visit a secluded location for stargazing. Depending on weather conditions, observe stars, planets, galaxies, and more.

What people are saying about Kailua-Kona

We had an amazing guide Aaron had so much great information, which made the time in the van going from spot to spot, very interesting. If you’re bringing a camera, I highly recommend bringing a tripod for the night time spent at the volcano park and stargazing. You’ll spend about 30 minutes at each spot, so you’ll have plenty of time to capture some long exposure images of the Milky Way.

This tour is a great way to see the island and learn about the history of Hawaii. Our tour guide, Dreu, did an outstanding job of making sure we got the most out of the tour. He kept everyone entertained throughout the drive with historical facts and stories. We had a perfect night. We were able to see the lava glow in the crater and the stars were amazing! I would highly recommend!

Truly a once in a lifetime experience, well with the money. It is a long day but it is required to see all of the areas of the island on the tour. Aaron was unbelievably knowledgeable and was very kind and accommodating. I would recommend sticking with his schedule so you have the opportunity to see everything plus a little extra.

Outstanding driver/guide was extremely knowledgeable about Hawaii history and culture and about stars. Although this is a long trip the driver kept it interesting with stops to see key sights. The volcano was a little disappointing because it stopped erupting on the one day were to see it, but that's nature.

Es war ein langer, toller, interessanter Tag. Voller Erinnerungen die ich mit nach Hause nehmen darf. Mahalo Aaron, dem Guide . Er war so super!!!
