The Jinshan ling Great Wall was first built in the sixth century during the Northern and Southern Dynasties (420-589). Along it are 67 watchtowers, all in different styles, at average intervals of 150 meters.Jinshanling is also relatively undeveloped for those looking for a more authentic Wall experience. Viewed from a distance, the Jinshan ling Great Wall is like a giant dragon, curving its path over the mountain peaks whose line it follows. Afterwards, you will stop at a local restaurant for lunch. A lunch at a local farmer’s restaurant will be organized after the hiking before returning to the city. This section offers arguably the finest hiking anywhere on the Great Wall. It is extremely photogenic, with over 15 watch-towers, and steep gradients that give constantly changing perspectives and wide, open views. There is fascinating variety in the watch-towers here. Some have two storeys, others three. Some have flat roofs, others rounded and others again are pitched with upturned eaves. This section of the wall is wild, ruined, preserved and original. On a clear day, it is difficult to fail to take good photographs here. 

Depart from exit A of "Chaoyang Men" subway station in downtown Beijing approx 7:00AM in the morning. Then start the trip to the Jinshanling Great Wall. Start your 3-hour hike on the eastern section of the wall at 10 am with plenty of photo opportunities of the surrounding foliage, architecture, and towers along the way. Be surrounded by ancient architecture to marvel at the along this 6 km hike. Take time to enjoy the breathtaking sights along the parapets on this relatively less crowded section of the wall with room to stop and admire the views. This section of the Great Wall offers a look at each unique tower along the way, ensuring there is always something new to discover. After the included lunch, your adventure will conclude and you will be transferred back to the " dongzhimen" subway station.

Pick up at your hotel on time. It is a private service. 2 hours a drive to the Jinshanling Great Wall; the driver will drop you off at the Jinshanling main gate and pick you up at the east gate. You can spend 3 - 4 hours wandering around the wall. The driver will wait for you at the east gate.

Pick you up at your Beijing hotel at 7am and drive 2.5 hours to Simatai West. A 40-minute walking up will lead you to East-Five-Eye watchtower at Simatai West (Jinshanling East). You may take a few breaths before reaching the Wall, and will be rewarded by the breathtaking panoramic view of this amazing human constructions. Once standing on the top of the Wall, you could see Simatai, Jinshanling and Gubeikou in a clear day, what a spectacular view! You will walk mainly on brick steps at Jinshanling section and some of them are big. This section of the Wall is very popular among keen photographers for its intact watchtowers, beacon towers and other solid constructions. The steps rise up and down constantly and scenery is changing at every watchtower. Take a short break and some photos here, you will then walk westward to Jinshanling. You will get through Shalingkou and Zhuanduokou and then off the Wall at Taochunkou. Walking on the hilly trail for some 1 hour and taking a break at the cottage at Jinshanling West Gate. Continuing the walking through jungles for half an hour, you will come back to the Wall again at 24-Eye Watchtower at Gubeikou. You could see the panoramic view of the Tiger Hill in a distance if weather permits. The rest of 1.5 hours’ walking on the Dragon Hill is relatively flat and easier. Our driver is waiting for you at the end of Gubeikou. You will drive 2.5 hours back to Beijing.
