What people are saying about Jewish Quarter, Amsterdam

Your ticket is valid at four sites and each is worth exploring. The Jewish Historical Museum is housed mainly in two former synagogues and had many interesting exhibits about Judaism and Jewish life in the Netherlands. The Portuguese Synagogue is across the street. It was interesting to tour this historic building, which is still in use as a synagogue. Nearby is the National Holocaust Memorial, in a former theatre that was used as a deportation center during WWII. Across the street is the National Holocaust Museum. Although not yet complete, you can see a number of exhibits as a preview.

Emotionally impactful

Our visit to the Jewish Cultural Quarter was very moving. We had some basic knowledge of the Jewish heritage in Holland but our visit to the museum, the synagogue and the Holocaust museum opened our eyes much more than we had expected.

A tour of different sites of the Jewish community, the Portuguese Synagogue, impressive, great, and very well maintained, Beautiful. The Jewish museum, the Holocaust monument, all very interesting. It is worth visiting these sites.
