This 2 day tour covers the best sights of Jordan: The first stop will be the Greek-Roman city of Jerash, which features an impressive Amphitheatre and a high street that is still very intact. The second stop is Amman, which is the capital of Jordan and pulsates with life, similar to Tel Aviv in Israel. In the middle of the city, you have a very old citadel that is situated on a hill overlooking the city. It's an impressive view and the best place for taking pictures in all of Amman. The night in the Beduin camp is a lot of fun and actually a core part of the experience. Don't upgrade to the hotel, it's not worth it. The food on the trip was also surprisingly good. On the second day, we visited Petra. The city is just BREATHTAKING and something that you have to see once in your lifetime. In total we spent 6 hours in Petra, which is sufficient to get a good overview. The only caveat to visiting Jordan from Israel is that you have to accept waiting times of up to 2 hours border.
I initially booked wanting to see Petra only, but I am very glad the tour also took us to Jaresh and Amman. The recovered past civilisation buildings are terrific, and the guide, Emad was knowledgeable, and engaging. The Bedouin camp was very different to staying in a hotel, but I liked it. Petra is terrific, and the rest of the tour was very interesting. Remember to bring Jordanian money, as there is no access to money changers or an ATM when you leave the Israel/ Jordan border.
This was a fantastic tour! Our guide, Rania, was very knowledgeable about every site we saw, and our driver, Mustafa, was friendly and efficient. The Bedouin camp was amazing, and the lunches we stopped for were also excellent. The only thing I would note is that you need to have 107 NIS for the Israeli exit fee and at least 60 Jordanian dinars (or US equivalent)—there is no ATM at the border as some people on our tour were told.
All advertised programs fulfilled, border crossings professionally handled, adequate transportation, a truly excellent guide (Nader). No hidden costs, the Bedouin camp a great experience! We are really glad we didn’t choose a direct to Petra version, as the Jerash and Amman stops were also extremely interesting
