We were exceptionally lucky with our guide. The queue for the Hagia Sophia was around 45 minutes and Ilke Nur noticed that I was using a walking stick seat. She sent me to wait on a bench at the front of the queue so I avoided standing longer than I could comfortably do. I was so grateful because the Hagia Sophia is an awe inspiring place religious or not. Ilke Nur was also knowledgeable and proud of her country’s history and heritage and made this by far the best tour we have done while in Istanbul.

With the guide, it did help to get in easier even though no one can skip the line for security. Without him, I guessed we wouldn’t know how to do and wait for much longer. Our wait in line was about 1 hour 15 minutes on a Sunday weekend National holiday so it expected to be long lines

I really enjoyed this tour! The Hagia Sophia is a an extraordinarily beautiful mosque with a rich history. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed speaking to him, the line to the mosque was long but moved quickly and we were inside within 40 minutes.
