What people are saying about Hunter Region

Our guide, Ander, did an excellent job of explaining what we were viewing, and driving through traffic and the scenic countryside. He was well informed and enthusiastic and made our day very enjoyable. He also knew quite a bit about wine making and made an effort to point out wildlife along the way. We enjoyed delightful tastings in three wineries, one including cheese and the other chocolate, and a distillery tasting with an amazing assortment of shimmering vodkas and gins. There was an excellent lunch included with a selection of five entrees plus any beer, wine or other alcoholic or non alcoholic beverage on the menu to choose from .. Ander pre ordered the main for us. The group had ten people ‘not six or less’ as advertised, but the outing didn’t seem rushed or crowded. More clarity re choice of possible pick up places would be good. We found the excursion to be good value and a most worthwhile and fun whole day out trip from Sydney.

This was a truly great day out. Our guide Julz was hilarious and got everyone talking and shared great knowledge with us about the wines and grape growing/wine making processes and tips on tasting. We had far more tastings than I would have expected, a great gourmet box (for lunch (catered for gluten free for me which was lovely) and we visited multiple venues with lovely, welcoming staff. Very good value for money. The group of us were great friends by the end and we were rather merry!

The Hunter Valley Wine, Gin, Cheese and Chocolate tour delivered on all that it promised. We had a great tour guide in Col and a small and friendly group of 8 to enjoy the experience with. The pick up and drop-off at our accommodation are real bonus. We even had a pizza lunch at a brewery just to add another feature to this already feature packed tour. I highly recommend this tour to anyone coming up to the Hunter Valley and looking for some fun with wine ++++ .

The tour director was very knowledgeable and friendly. He gave us a good description of how each type of wine was made. The cheese and chocolate pairings were excellent. The gin and vodka was not a great experience and should be excluded from the itinerary. We got to see Kangaroos. We enjoyed the small group experience from different backgrounds.

So glad we did this! It was an amazing day and we were lucky enough to only have a group of 5 people. Ander our guide was so nice and knowledgeable, we loved his fun facts throughout the day.
