Full description

Discover the verdant beauty of the Mekong Delta on a day trip from Ho Chi Minh city. Travel in an air-conditioned minivan or bus and board a motorboat for a ride through islands on the Tien River. Enjoy a local lunch in an orchard and ride a rowboat under coconut trees on the Bao Dinh canal.

Depart from your Ho Chi Minh City hotel and head to the Mekong Delta by minivan or bus. Pass by green rice fields before arriving at the beautiful rural My Tho.

Go by motorized boat on the Tien River to the Qui (Tortoise islet). See the fishing port, boat-building workshops, and the Dragon, Phoenix, and Unicorn Islet.

Walk into the village, where you can visit a local fruit garden and enjoy the tropical fruit while listening to Southern Vietnamese folk music performed by islanders. Join in the daily activities that the locals do and take in the atmosphere of this beautiful natural countryside.

Visit the bee house, and take a picture of the pythons. Lunch will be served right in the heart of the orchard garden.

The boat cruise will lead you through the Bao Dinh canal, entering Ben Tre province — the land of coconuts. Here you'll see a typical agricultural model called "Garden – Pond – Cage” before visiting the coconut candy-making shop.

Next, enjoy a rowing boat trip on the small canal, fully covered by the shadow of the water coconut trees. After your boat ride, take a bike ride around the island before returning to the bus.

I enjoyed being in a small group. I was traveling by myself & it allowed us to do more things and have less crowds. I really enjoyed the tea and fruit with Tajin tasting, as well as, getting into a smaller wooden boat to navigate through the smaller canals of the Mekong Delta. I would do this trip again.

Very nice excursion, with the few hours available you can see many different places: the CHUA VINH TRANG pagoda, three villages in the Mekong, kayaking with locals. You taste the local fruits and the lunch is very good !! Sure it would have been nice to have more time to wander alone, but still worth it! Our guide BETTY was very good, kind and very helpful, hard to find better !!!!

The tour was as advertised and included a lot of activities. Our guide, Kevin, was helpful and funny. We enjoyed him. It was great to see the Mekong. I do want to note that I felt the tour was too long, especially in the summer heat. I would like to suggest that the tour company consider offering a half or three-quarter day tour. We were ready to go after lunch.
