Full description

Be collected from your accommodation then head to Cu Chi. Along the way, watch as the frantic city scenery transitions into a more peaceful rural setting. See the rice paddy farms, quaint roadside vendors, and increasingly lush greenery.  Once you arrive, begin with a tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground network of pathways, hideouts, sleeping quarters, meeting rooms, hospitals, and Hoang Cam Stove. These narrow tunnels provide barely enough space for a single person to crawl their way through, though some are now wider to accommodate visitors. Learn that the mere 10 to 13 feet (3 to 4 meter) thick level of upper soil can support the bearing weight of a 55 ton (50 metric ton) tank and the explosive damage of bombs.  Watch an insightful film about the wartime experience before further exploring the tunnel's trap doors and underground quarters. Then make a visit to huge bomb craters left from the war, the Garment-factory Ammunition and Souvenir Shops, and the Museum of Self-made Weapons. Get the exhilarating opportunity to fire an M-15, AK-47, and a carbine rifle at the National Defense Sports Shooting Range for a true wartime experience (extra for shooting gun). Finally, savor local tapioca before the comfortable ride back to Ho Chi Minh City. Head to a local foot massage parlor to treat your feet after a long day of walking in the Cu Chi Tunnels. After the massage, be taken back to your accommodation.

The experience in the tunnel was amazing! Learned a lot about the history of the wars, Vietnam, the whole city and the lives of the soldiers. Jack, the tour guide explained in detail and very patiently answered every question. Tip to travellers: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you won’t mind getting dirty!

It was a unique experience visiting the Cu Ci tunnels. Understanding the history behind it as well as the amazing innovation by the people was truly incredible. We experienced moving through the tunnels & got a glimpse of how people spent their lives in this underground environment. We also saw the types of guns & ammunition used & even had the opportunity to use a real gun with real bullets. It was quite an experience. I think it’s a must visit for anyone visiting Ho Chi Minh City. It was a day well spent. Our guide Ms Rah was very knowledgeable & made our trip even more enjoyable.

The Cu Chi Tunnels were very interesting and the tour and the guide were very committed overall. Shooting is quite expensive (60 000 dong per shot, min. 10 shots). When trying the manioc, our guide wanted to move on quickly, although we still had something to eat, which disturbed the relaxed atmosphere a bit. Then we were taken to a cute place by the river for lunch. This was delicious, but small and expensive ($9/person). Here, too, the guide wanted to continue quickly after the meal. All in all a worthwhile trip, the restaurant (Nha Hang Ben Nay) at the end is not really recommended.
