After gathering at the meeting point, you will begin your one-tank shore dive along the lush and iconic East Hawai‘i coast. Your tour departs from the Hilo Ocean Adventures shop, ventures a few miles along the beautiful shore to the breathtaking dive site. Hilo is especially unique as the cool fresh water springs that enter the sea along the coast regulates ocean temperatures and prevents coral bleaching. You can dive the untouched reef walls and spectacular rock formations, and immerse yourself in East Hawaii's thriving and diverse sea life. The coastline is renowned for the abundant sea turtle population, and the brackish water is home to a wealth of diversity including octopus, eagle and manta rays, eels, coral, and tropical reef fish. Your dive master will guide you on an incredible journey through the abundance of sea life below, and will ensure you have a fun and memorable experience. Leave your gear at home and dive using top-of-the-line equipment which includes 2018 Atomic Z3 regulators and Oceanic BCD's.

Get back up to speed with scuba diving with a comprehensive refresher course in Hilo. Work with expert dive instructors to get comfortable underwater in an indoor heated pool. Review safety guidelines and best practices to embark on your next dive safely. Hone your scuba skills within a safe and controlled environment. Re-familiarize yourself with hand signals, gear assembly, dive science, weather conditions, and adequate weighting. After the refresher, you'll feel comfortable and confident to jump back into your next big diving adventure

Explore unseen worlds and discover how our ocean comes to life under the night sky. You will begin the tour by meeting your dive master at the local partner’s shop. Then you will take a short drive to a nearby dive location.  Your dive master will guide you on an incredible illuminated journey through the abundance of sea life below. They will ensure you have an exciting and memorable experience.  Experience coral spawning, bioluminescence, and have the opportunity to see nocturnal sea creatures that only make their appearance at night.

Experienced divers who have completed at least 15 dives, will particularly enjoy this new dive tour. We are venturing out to new remote locations around Hilo Bay, only accessible by boat. You’ll enjoy sites such as Mauna Kea Crater, cascading waterfalls, scenic Hamakua Coast, abandoned plantation sugar mill built in the 1920’s and occasionally spinner dolphins that catch a ride on our wake. The underwater topography is a particularly unique experience with pinnacles, shelfs, canyons, lava tubes, sea life indigenous to the Hawaiian Islands, and healthy coral reefs. During the winter months, you may even catch a glimpse of breaching Humpback Whales and snow capped crater.
