  • Encounter a variety of ocean life, whales, dolphins, seals and seabirds
  • See Hermanus and the Western Cape from a different view
Full description
Board your vessel for the day and receive a safety briefing before starting your whale watching adventure. In good weather conditions travellers will be allowed on the top-deck before departure for great unobstructed views, otherwise they will be allowed on top only after the whales have been found. Travel out onto the ocean taking in great views as you go.  Once the whales have been spotted, the vessel is allowed to move closer to the whales where it stops and the engines disengage is to prevent the whales from being injured by the propellers. Experience for yourself the astonishment of being so close to these majestic creatures.  As the whales are curious creatures, they might move up to the vessel for some 'people watching'. See a variety of other marine wildife such as dolphins and seals as you coast along the water. As you travel through the day and spot these beautiful creatures learn more about them from your crew, before they take you back to land after a once in a lifetime experience.

We had an amazing trip to see the whales. I appreciate its pot luck if you get to see them, and we were lucky enough to see a few with calves as well. But most of all its the crew. They were most informative and in love with the whales.

Brought a tear to my wife’s eye!

This was one of the best trips we’ve ever done, it was a beautiful time spent with the whales especially the mother and calf and the crew were incredibly knowledgeable about the whole life-cycle of the Southern Right Whales we followed. Can’t recommend it enough. It did bring a tear to my wife’s eye too.

We booked this tour and would do it again and again. It was such an amazing tour from start to finish!! After being greeted, we were able to go into a room where we were offered coffee cakes and fresh drinks. In addition we were given a package with a drink and chips to take to the boat. Then a guide told us about safety on board and also about the whales. After that we walked to the boat about 150 meters. On the boat we were briefly told something about safety and we could just enjoy everything! It's not a hunt for animals. A boat was already at a whale and we did NOT go to this whale, so that the animals are not smuggled in. The animals are protected and have their space. We would book it again and again.
