Tromso: RIB-Boat Excursion to Hella

1. Tromso: RIB-Boat Excursion to Hella

Departing from Tromso, board a RIB boat, or rigid-inflatable boat - a lightweight but high-performance boat. Set off to explore the beautiful Hella region, navigating along the Ry tidal current. Discover how this current attracts fish, who in turn attract birds. Keep your eyes peeled for lots of local wildlife species during the ride. Dock the boat, and walk 5 minutes to a small boathouse where you can enjoy coffee, tea, and muffins. Admire the beautiful views of fjords, mountains, and wildlife surrounding you. Observe the strength of the current you just navigated. Finally, start the short hike back to the RIB boat and begin your exciting navigation back to Tromso.

The Arctic is a magical place that offers special moments through and around the fjords during the midnight sun months that can only be found above the Arctic circle. This tour is a scenic and educational sightseeing tour in which you will explore the fjords in the Arctic landscape around the Tromsø region. Your tour will begin after meeting at the local operators base camp in central Tromsø for a quick briefing and overview of the area you will explore. You will head out in your Tesla Model X with a personal guide who will be with you for the entire duration of the tour. This tour offers the perfect combination for those looking to explore the fjords that face the Atlantic ocean, while enjoying the genuine setting of a small group and an experienced guide. During the tour you will be taken to 3 main spots located on the island of Kvaløya. Your first stop is Ersfjord, a local coastal village that has traditionally been a fishing village - now a stunning fjord popular for visitors, and great for those looking to take photos. The next location to visit is Sommarøy, a small island connected to Kvaløya via a bridge. Sommarøy is known for it’s stunning nature with crystal clear blue water and sandy beaches with peak mountains in the background which gives you a dramatic view of the Arctic landscape. The last stop for the route is Hella, where you can find old rock carvings. The fjord side road passing through Hella is a treat for all senses. During one of the stops above, you will be served a light picnic consisting of wraps and hot drinks. Depending on time, you may make a few other stops at photogenic locations and if you are lucky you may spot reindeer, moose, eagles and other wildlife along the way. This tour is for the entire family, and you will get the opportunity to ask questions, take pictures and stretch your legs in the amazing Arctic environment that we love so much.

Good to be out in the sea

Probably best if you bring a binocular to see the birds and seals up close. Also try to go when it's not rainy or cloudy. Can be cold but that's why you get suited up but it's not as comfy. Also the lesser stuff you bring to the trip, the better. You can only take pictures when the boat stops, unless you have waterproof camera (but too you're busy hanging on). And note, no toilet for 2 hours, the entire time you're on the tour.

What an amazing experience! We saw a lot of wildlife and with a rough weather the boat ride was even more fun! Our guide was amazing and told us a lot of information about the nature in the region.

Safety first - then fun An exiting and pleasent trip wrapped in local history

Fantastic experience even for us who are raised and live in Tromsø!
