9. Florence: Full-Day Private Tour of Chianti and San Gimignano
Following a pickup from your accommodation, make your way to the marvelous Chianti Wine region. Relax on a 1.5-hour drive and pass by beautiful vineyard landscapes and olive grove hills with castles and abbeys. The first stop takes you to the enchanting market town of Greve-in-Chianti, best known for its Chianti wine and picturesque artisan shops. Visit a local artisan for colds cuts and delicacies such as wild boar and pecorino cheeses before crossing the rolling hills to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Montefioralle, the birthplace of Amerigo Vespucci. Then, indulge in a wine tasting at Antinori’s Badia di Passignano wine estate. Sip a variety of wines from large renowned wine-producers to small boutique estates, family-owned farms and impressive castles. Following the wine tasting, savor a delicious lunch in one of the hidden spots in the Chianti hills.
