1. From San Francisco: Yosemite National Park Full-Day Trip

Spend an active, fun-filled day learning why Yosemite is one of America’s most popular national parks. Hike through the park with an experienced guide and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature on this small group tour. Start off by making your way east from San Francisco and heading across the Bay Bridge. You’ll continue toward the Sierras and make your way into the mountains. There, you’ll learn about California’s rich history as you pass through some of the first settlements built during the Gold Rush. Once you arrive in Yosemite National Park, it’s time to stretch your legs. Your first stop in Yosemite will include a 2.5-mile round trip hike to see the Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias. Be prepared for this strenuous hike, where you’ll descend 400 feet into the grove, before turning around and walking back up. Next, you’ll cruise into the famous Yosemite Valley to take in views of Bridalveil Falls, El Capitan, Half Dome, and more. Capture breathtaking photos at Tunnel View and take in the eastern expanse of Yosemite Valley. Once inside the valley, you’ll have 1.5 hours of free time to explore on your own. Your guide will help you decide what to do: you can meander down paved paths, hike around Yosemite Falls, engage further with the park’s history at the visitor’s center, or visit the Ansel Adams Gallery. In the late afternoon, you’ll depart for San Francisco, stopping for a short break before arriving back in the city. You’ll arrive back at your hotel around 8:30 to 9:00 PM to sleep off the day’s adventures.

Quick review: Jamie was a fantastic guide on a very hot day in Yosemite! This felt like a fun field trip with a great group of strangers and a van that had great AC. Jamie gave us realistic advice for which places to visit in the 3 hours we had at the valley. More details: It was our first time going to Yosemite, and although we wanted to do the Giant Sequoia trip, IncredibleAdventures (who operates this tour) told us that not enough people booked The Giant Sequoia trip for us to go on it (they told us 2 days before our scheduled tour). Luckily, they rebooked us into the Yosemite Day Trip tour (for the same date as our original reservations) and gave us a refund for the inconvenience. The Yosemite Day Trip tour was awesome! Even when we had some issues with receiving our refund, the GetYourGuide customer service team helped us out quickly. Overall, very satisfied with the clarity before and throughout the trip to Yosemite! Their customer service after the trip was also exceptional.

Great sites, driver was super friendly. We weren’t able to eat at our leisure in the vehicle due to Covid which was a challenge in a 15 hour trip. We also could have condensed some of the sites. We never got to stop and take pictures at overlooks for those iconic Yosemite park views— that was a big disappointment. Only pics we took were up close to Points Of Interest like El Capitan, etc. Definitely does not need to be an 8 hour tour. Felt like driver was dragging it out a bit bc that’s what we paid for, but I would have preferred getting back earlier. That’s me though. Maybe provide a variety of trip lengths; 3 hour, 5 hour and 8 hour..... Also would suggest updating the excursion description regarding the waterfalls — as being a point of interest during the seasons when they are dried up— would have liked to know that ahead of time. Maybe plan on stopping at the river instead so people can get a water feature of some sorts when the falls are dry. Add a restaurant stop to tour.

Our guide Daniel Gail was very well informed and brought us to many beautiful viewpoints as well as hiking corners. The 4 days were very pleasant. He also could always recommend something in the area we stayed in.

To be a one-day tour, not bad. The most touristic part of the Park is seen, a bit accelerated all but it is logical to not have much time. In general, it is well worth doing.
