We had a great welcome followed by a complete tour of the distillery and lots of explanations along the way. Then a most pleasant tasting in a small private room. And always with the support of our friendly and knowledgeable guide. The site is also very enchanting and we also took the time to take a few steps on a hiking trail adjacent to the distillery. We highly recommend this tour!

Our tour guide David was absolutely great! He was a hoot, and very knowledgeable about scotch and the Glengoyne brand. With my husband being a well-versed scotch drinker, and myself not scotch experienced at all, he did a great job of providing the right information to help bridge the gap. The guided tasting with the paired gourmet chocolates was great! To be honest, I was worried about it because I do not drink hard liquor typically. But I was very happy for a couple reasons: 1) Glengoyne uses no peat! 2) the chocolates helped take the edge off. 3) David's instruction helped me taste the flavors rather than just the alcohol. We were extremely glad to have signed up for this tour. Just be well prepared for your travel up to the distillery if you have not rented a car. The taxi ride is expensive but only about 40 minutes from Glasgow, but the buses only run every hour from the train stop in Milngavie, so if you miss the train like we did, you may be in a tough spot!
