Full description
From the Royal Concert Hall to King Tut’s, the tour is a whistle-stop guide around Glasgow city center, an area teeming with music venues from the past and present. First, listen to the Apollo stories and check out the home of Celtic Connections. Hear tales from the heyday of the long gone Empire and listen to the legends from the late, lamented Apollo. The Conservatoire and Glasgow School of Art have both played a big role in the city's music scene and on this tour, you will listen to all the stories. Moving on to the Centre for Contemporary Arts and Nice 'n' Sleazy, the tour covers diverse genres and eras from dancehall and traditional jazz to punk, pop, and today's young guitar heroes. The music mile finishes at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut where you have the opportunity to follow in the early footsteps of Oasis, Blur and the Manic Street Preachers. Depending on access, you may have the chance to stand under the lights at King Tut’s and grab a selfie on the stage that helped launch so many great acts. Join the tour and explore a neighborhood rich in both musical myths and scuzzy backroom stages where the next generation of guitar heroes are paying their dues.

Phil our guide was absolutely fantastic especially towards my 17 year old granddaughter, he took his time to talk to her about his music experiences and let her talk about the music she likes with genuine interest which he knew a lot about and she learned a lot of new things musically from going on his tour and his knowledge was second to non. I would highly recommend this tour we all had a great time and the next time we visit Glasgow we will definitely book another one.

The tour was really interesting and Fiona really brought the venues to life. She had tons of knowledge and relayed it to us in an informative and lighthearted way. I would really recommend the tour and now might book the other music tour around the east end.

As an Oasis fan, the main part of the tour for me was King Tuts but the rest of the tour was equally interesting with some historic venues and funny stories. The guide was very good and it was clear to see she enjoys what she does and has a passion for music and the city.
