What people are saying about Gauteng

We booked this Food Experience at short notice and were surprised that we were the only participants. Tye and Shawn were excellent guides and shared interesting stories about the history and culture of this diverse neighbourhood. Most importantly, we felt very safe, especially as it's not recommended to see this place on your own. We visited four different restaurants, representing food from Ethiopia, South Africa, Ghana and Cameroon. The food was really tasty although we're not used to eating with our fingers. We can highly recommend this tour which stands out from the "normal" walking tours in Joburg!

The tour was very interesting. Pascal was the perfect tour guide. Very accommodating and drove us safely through Johannesburg, showed interesting spots and brought Johannesburg and Soweto and the South African culture closer. Personal questions about your own stay in South Africa and travel tips were also answered or given. The beer tasting and traditional South African food in Soweto were very good.

Very interesting visit to Yeoville, a vibrant immigrant neighborhood, sadly neglected by the government, which tourists rarely explore. We sampled 4 super informal restaurants each representing a different African cuisine. Food was tasty, ambiance fun, experience not sugar-coated. The guide was informative and considerate. Worthwhile experience!

Great guides and a very interesting and informative tour into an immigrant neighborhood in Johannesburg and the food of the people who live their.

A fantastic evening with our guide James. Could not have hoped to see so much alone. Strongly recommended.
