Our driver was extremely knowledgeable about the local history of Madeira, and he was happy to take us up to the old fort which was not part of his intended route. I really wish we had taken this tour on the first day rather than on our last, as we discovered parts of Funchal that we hadn't been to. Absolutely excellent, and very worthwhile doing this on day 1 of your holiday.

We had Tiago and he was so smart and energetic and engaging. And his English was so perfect! Also, he didn’t shy away from sharing some of the more difficult parts of Portugal’s history. We really appreciated his transparency. I would absolutely recommend this trip and this guide!!

I don't give a 5 star rating easily, but Tukxi was simply excellent! First we booked just this tour around Funchal but then we used their services throughout our stay. They were able to tailor make tours for us just as we liked them. They are very knowledgable, they know a lot of trivia and you can simply tell they love their beautiful island of Madeira and want for you to fall in love with it too. And so we did! I travelled with my daughter (9) and we both loved all our outings with Tukxi! I can only recommend that you try this tour first, get the feel of how they work and I can guarantee this tour will not be your last with them!
