Full description
Look forward to a hike in the western part of Fuerteventura and discover Las Peñitas Ravine close to Ajuy and the chapel. Ascend the ravine to see the place where the Virgen de la Peña, the patron saint of Fuerteventura, appeared. The figure of Holy Mary can still be found in a small chapel. Enjoy breathtaking views overlooking the entire valley far away from tourist crowds. If you're lucky, get the chance to observe wild goats and raptors. Drive 5 kilometers to the fishing village of Ajuy to start the second part of your hike. Discover the amazing coastal section that is not only a natural monument but also the oldest part of the island. Hike along the rugged coastline to a secluded black beach with a giant monolith with a big hole in the middle. Listen to the legend about this mystic place within a nature unspoiled. Head back to the village of Ajuy and enjoy some local snacks. Complete the day in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere before returning to your hotel.

It was a wonderful trip! Annemarie, our guide was just perfect for us. We were also very fortunate that the group was a great fit in and of itself. We had these two great hiking sections and talked about God and the world during the whole trip. I can only recommend it and if you are lucky you will also get Annemarie as a guide. Have fun! ;-)

There were two sections. One hike to the chapel. A short somewhat steep climb and descent through the wild gorge. Unfortunately we could not do the descent (therefore the same way back) because an international film team had blocked a part. But what was visible on the way looked good and would have ended the hike nicely. But so we had another rare experience through the film team which compensated for the descent. Part 2 took place in Ajuy, hike to the rock gate. Above the caves on the rock along the coast (approx. 45min) for a really great experience. The rock gate in the sun and the roaring blue water looked great and made a great impression on every hiker. Lunch in a typical local restaurant in Ajuy was just as good. Everything well organized by our good hiking guide Annemarie. All in all to be recommended and the pick-up service made everything perfect.

Good overview of Fuerteventuras history, geography and nature.

A relaxing day with hiking, interesting stories, history and good food. We vere picked up at our hotel at the time that we had agreed and the whole day was worth its price.
