9. Nice Sunset Walking tour : Sea, Hills and History
Starting in Port Lympia (end of the Tram 2 Terminus), you will discover the eastern part of Nice, in your way to get to an amazing view point for enjoying the sunset.
You will first learn more about the history of the port, while admiring the contrast between megayachts and traditionals fishing boats.
Going towards east, the story of the old prison of Nice will suprize you.
You will then discover the beauty of the Saint-Paul hotel, a former priest seminar built in the early 19's century.
This will lead us to the beggening of the wild littoral coast, just after passing in front of the plongeoir restaurant, with the most incredible terrace of the Riviera.
Walking on a little road between roads, you willl see how the locals enjoy the sun and the sea in this wonderfull cliffs.
Then, we will begin the slope leading to Mont-Boron, borrowing cute steps sets passing trhoughs magnificient villas, such as the "Chateau de l'Anglais" and 'Villa Beau Site".
The view on Nice will be continually more breathtaking while we will climb, letting us manny opportunities to stop for getting photos.
After a 20 minutes climb, we will reach the edge of Mont-Boron's wood, starting or walk into a typycal south-east forest made of pins, olive-threes, and Carob threes.
We will soon arrive to "La petite batterie du Mont-Boron", a former Fortified place that is now one of the best viewpoint of all the french Riviera.
You will then spend an amazing moment on the only viewpoint of the Riviera where you can see Nice, Villefranche and Saint-Jean Cap Ferrat at the same time.
We will then peacefully start or way down, sinking a little bit further the Mont Boron's Forest for borrowing a new path that will lead us to the byzantin church of Notre-Dame du Perpétuel Secours.
This road will end or loop at the Saint-Paul Hôtel, wich will let you the choice of getting back the inner-citty by the tram, go enjoy the sea on the spots that i showed you sooner or having a lunch on the good restaurants that i can reccomand you on the area.
