Full description
Visit Cologne for a day and discover 2000 years of its history, from the Roman times through to the Middle Ages, to the bustling metropolis that exists today. This tour shows you some of the city's most ancient relics, its grand Gothic cathedral, and enduring icons of culture from across the centuries. Once you meet your group in central Frankfurt, take a ride across the countryside for your visit to Germany's fourth-largest city. A double-decker bus takes you to see the site of the Roman Praetorium and the famous Dionysus mosaic at the Romano-Germanic Museum, as well at the mighty city gates and fantastic churches that offer an insight into the former medieval city life. When you take some time out for lunch, walk through the city's central pedestrian areas to experience the lively and vibrant atmosphere that makes Cologne a hotspot of art, culture, and modern life. Take a look at the grand Cathedral of Cologne, which took more than 600 years to complete. In the afternoon, make a stop in the town of Limburg an der Lahn to see its beautiful old bridges and medieval houses before you return to Frankfurt.
