Full description
Departing from Florence, drive to Pisa. See its stunning Piazza dei Miracoli and admire the Baptistery, the Cathedral, and, of course, the famous Leaning Tower. Continue to an elegant rural hamlet of ancient origins in the Chianti countryside. Once you hop off the bus, you will be lead around the splendid estate until you reach its ancient medieval chapel; here you will be introduced to the estate's fascinating history and background. Head for the villa's panoramic terrace, where you will enjoy your first delicious wine tasting of Chianti Classico while sitting on large wine barrels. The route will then continue to the restaurant: your typical Tuscan lunch will be accompanied by two excellent products of the estate itself, a "Riserva" and an IGP wine. Take your time after lunch to wander about and relax in the villa's luscious gardens. After lunch, the tour continues with a visit to San Gimignano, the medieval town that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then you’ll follow the scenic roads of the Chianti region to Siena, the city of the Palio. Meet your local guide for a tour of the city, and see its important monuments and piazzas. Visit Piazza del Campo, where the Palio di Siena horse race is held, and Piazza del Duomo, where you will see the exterior of the magnificent Cathedral. After some free time in Siena, you’ll head back to Florence.

Very good ! Our driver, Francesco, was very attentive and explained all the details, not only of the destination, but of various isolated points along the way. As he is a resident of the region, he has a unique knowledge of the area. The tour itself is very good, with adequate time for each stop. And unlike other tours, there was plenty of free time to explore the cities. In Pisa the tower is a must visit, in San Gimignano it is worth buying the city pass in the tower, which is cheap and you can go through all the other points. Lunch and wine tasting is interesting but not essential. It is worth more for the look of Chianti than for the wines themselves. Finally, Siena is beautiful - perhaps the only city worth a day trip just for her. Our guide here, Lavinia, was very helpful and explained many of the details and peculiarities of the city that we would never know by visiting alone. Anyway, there is nothing to complain about!

Long busy day, but some great sites. Good tour guide. Lunch was nice, got penne pasta with tomato sauce and salad and cheese as the vegetarian meal. Others had meats and cheeses and meat pasta? Learned about Chianti wines, too. Pisa was amazing and really liked San Gimignano- just not enough time there.

I had a wonderful time. The staff of your local partner were very professional. They were on time and were really friendly. Special thanks to Olesia, who was very helpful, she explained the history of the places that we visited very thoroughly in order to understand what we are going to see, she was very patient and polite, she answered the questions that we had, in order to enhance our understanding. In Sienna, she took as a walking tour to the centre of Sienna, explaining the history of St Caterina and also the history of the Duomo of Siena. She also asked one of her colleagues to take tickets for all of us in order to be able to see the Cathedral, since when we arrived to the cathedral it was 16:45 and she was explaining the history of the Duomo. We managed to see the Duomo of Siena thanks to Olesia. She also explained the game that is organised twice a year in Siena at Piazza El Cambio. She was very professional and knowledgeable. I strongly recommend this tour to everybody
