Full description
First discover Florence's historical food market where the locals do their daily shopping. Blend in with the locals, and meet the bakers, the butchers, and the farmers selling vegetables from their fields. Their stalls are full of items such as fresh fruit, vegetables, cheeses, cured meats, balsamic vinegar, sun dried tomatoes, olives and many other Italian food specialties. Shop for the ingredients to use for the cooking class and learn to choose the best seasonal products. Then it's time to start your cooking lesson at a farmhouse in Tuscany. This isn't just a demonstration, you will actually take part in creating a full traditional Tuscan meal with the chef's help. You will learn to make real Italian fresh pasta by hand with freshly laid eggs and learn to make a traditional meat sauce using ingredients from right outside the door! Learn to prepare a classic bruschetta with fresh bread, homegrown tomatoes and the farmhouse's own extra virgin olive oil and then take a break to enjoy it with a glass of Chianti wine. After the break it's back to the lesson where you will learn how to prepare traditional Tuscan roast pork, aristan and Tuscan roast potatoes using fresh herbs collected from around the farmhouse. To finish the class, you will learn the secrets of the wonderful Italian coffee and cream dessert, Tiramisù. At last sit down to enjoy a wonderful meal. Each course will be paired with a carefully selected wine from the region to compliment the flavors of the food you have prepared. At the end of your meal, your driver will be waiting for you for a short drive back to Florence, so it's time to say "arrivederci" after an unforgettable experience in Tuscany.

Absolutely the favorite part of our trip. Elise and Thomas were wonderful and so knowledgeable. and our chef, Carmela was an absolute joy. She made it all look so easy and everything we made was terrific. The drive to the countryside was lovely and the views from the kitchen were gorgeous. We highly recommend this class.

This was a highlight of my trip. So much fun, with a fantastic group of people lead by two wonderful chefs. History, humour and food, all wrapped into one day spent shopping and cooking in a gorgeous kitchen overlooking the valley in the hills of Florence. Breathtaking and delicious? A fabulous combination. I wholeheartedly recommend this, for solo or with others!! I learned a lot, and had so much fun while doing it.

This tour was one of our favourites. After so many tours that were a lot of walking and exploring it was so nice to do something different and have a nice relaxing day. Isaac was our guide and he was extremely laid back and hilarious. The market part of the tour was very informative and was interesting learning about the different types of food. The cooking class itself is in the most beautiful location in the Tuscan Countryside. Isaac works with Carmella who doesn't speak English but sings and dances and it is hilarious watching Isaac translate what she is saying, they make a great team! Everyone equally got to help do all the cooking and everyone has their own pasta station. We left extremely full and can't wait to try out the recipes at home. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone!
