Enjoy this lovely and relaxed day with local famous chefs, and learn the art of the 2 things Italians do best — cooking and shopping. The day begins with a trip to the local market to gather the ingredients for the Tuscan feast you will learn to prepare. With your chefs as your guides you will meet the butchers, the bakers, and the farmers selling vegetables from their gardens. Under their expert guidance you will taste the local food and wines, and learn how to distinguish the highest quality ingredients. After this very enjoyable experience you will make you way to the charming home-style professional kitchen where you will learn to create an amazing Tuscan meal. You will learn how to prepare fresh Tuscan-style bruschetta, fresh home-made pasta, and a seasonal main course, all accompanied with a selection of Chianti wines. Be sure to pay attention to your guides as after you have finished cooking you can enjoy eating the meal you have just created.

This was so great! Although it was a Sunday and the market was closed which would have been fun to do. We still enjoyed ourselves. There were only 4 of us in class so we got to really get to learn and attention to how our meals were turning out. We made ragù, ravioli, tagliatelle, sauce and tiramisu.

Totally worth it. The hosts are very fun. Started off with a market tour (with excellent tastings and advice). Students made the pasta and tiramisu from scratch and the instructor walked us through the sauce and fillings with great cooking tips. Sipped wine throughout, had some nice appetizers, and the food was delicious. To top it off the atmosphere was lively and fun. I’m a novice in the kitchen and could follow along well enough!

The course as a whole was a good change from the city tour.

Unfortunately the market was closed on Sunday, so we missed the opportunity to experience the atmosphere and the great offer of the market. That was a real shame! The provider should perhaps not offer this tour on Sunday, because the market is certainly one of the highlights of the course. The menu itself was certainly not difficult and unusual in terms of choice, but the production of fresh pasta was the great experience and the conviviality of the multicultural group was very refreshing and enriching! The food was rather bland and tasted too little for Italian standards. Kevin, the tour guide and cook was very friendly and gave a very personal touch with a lot of passion. His cooking assistant Manisha was also very warm, natural and conveyed her knowledge well. We really liked the cooking class from the experience point of view and is definitely recommended if you have enough of shopping and sightseeing!
