Full description
Visit the Uffizi and Accademia galleries on a guided tour. View pieces from the Middles Ages to the Renaissance and see the famous works of Michelangelo. This tour takes approximately 3 hours and is broken up with time for lunch in between. Meet your guide at 10:30 AM and enjoy a short stroll to the Uffizi Gallery. On your way to the gallery admire Palazzo Medici, the Baptistery, the Duomo-Cathedral, and Piazza della Signoria. Also enjoy a sight of Palazzo Vecchio and its open-air museum with various masterpieces including the copy of Michelangelo's David. Pass through the wings of the Uffizi Gallery to enter the museum. There, your knowledgeable guide will explain the works of the greatest artists from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. See paintings by Giotto, Masaccio, Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raffaello. After your guided tour of the Uffizi, have some free time inside the gallery. After spending time at the Uffizi split for lunch and remeet later in the afternoon. After your lunch break, remeet your group at 4:00 PM to visit the Accademia Gallery. You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Michelangelo’s art and see his most famous work, the statue of David. You will learn why David is the most recognizable symbol of Florence and what it represented in its time. The tour ends at the Accademia Gallery, but you will have the opportunity to spend additional time exploring the gallery on your own.
