Full description

Discover how to make a typical Italian pizza with the help of a local chef from Florence, and get cooking tips on pizza and gelato making in the heart of the “Cradle of the Renaissance.”

On arrival, an expert chef will be on hand to help you prepare the flexible yeast dough that stretches to an almost paper-like thinness. Learn how to make a flavorful, yet light tomato sauce. Even if you normally bake pizza in your oven, these techniques are universal. Roll up your sleeves to stretch, sauce, and then bake your dough. Once you’ve made your pizza, get hands-on with the gelato! Learn about the basic ingredients and how to select the best raw produce according to specific principles. Get tips on the development and application of natural colors, heating and freezing techniques, and how each has a different effect on the ingredients. Don’t forget to collect your Graduation Certificate before you leave.

It didn't get off to a good start as the guide got us to the class 30 minutes late due to lack of communication. At first we weren't sure whether we'd be able to join but chef Emanuele allowed us. However the My TOURS representative was too focused on trying to take payment from a customer when we were already late - ridiculous. We had missed the entire dough making part but were still able to make a pizza as chef had prepared extra by chance. Chef was lovely and so were the other people in the class. Apart from the rocky start, it was a great time.

Fun experience

The cooking class was a nice experience while on our trip to Florence. Our guide/chef was very social and talkative, which was slightly annoying at the start since we wanted to start cooking, but at the end it was nice to have a chef that we could talk to about more than just cooking, and was open to conversation about all kinds of stuff. The pizza making was nice and informative, but the ice cream making was just an explanation. However, after asking if we could try to make the mixture ourselves, the chef let us actually try it. All in all, a very fun and unique experience and of course some very tasty pizza and gelato!

This is the best cooking class's I have ever had

I really liked the cooking class, I think a big part of its charm is the teacher. In my case the teacher was called Thomas, he explained everything so well and answered all of my questions. Anther important thing I wanted to mention is that I really liked the atmosphere this class had and the teamwork that it involved. In conclusion I would reccomend this class to anyone that has some free hours to spend on Florence while also learning something interesting about cooking.
