Full description
Start your walking tour at Piazza del Duomo where you will meet your expert guide. After a short debrief about the Basilica, continue on to the neighborhood of San Lorenzo, the home of the first Medici Palace in Florence and the Medici Chapel. Check out the neighborhood's famous open-air market specializing in leather goods and clothing. Learn more about the Medici family and the part they played in Florentine history from your expert guide as you wander through. Next, come upon the most iconic landmark in Florence: the Duomo. Marvel at the complex comprised by the Baptistery, Brunelleschi’s Dome, and Giotto’s Bell Tower. Nearby, find Dante’s house and the Bargello, a former prison that now serves as an art museum. Stop by Il Porcellino, a bronze boar statue, and rub his nose for luck. Then head to Piazza della Signoria and Loggia dei Lanzi to admire the beauty of the Palazzo Vecchio. Learn about the history of the palace and stroll through the open-air museum at the Loggia. Continue along the Vasari Corridor to reach your last stop, Ponte Vecchio.

We did the guided tour with Francesca. Really a pleasure to have her as a guide. Very prepared in her knowledge, she brought extra material to explain even more of what we were looking at. Very kind, practical, he included us in his talk so that we could deduce any unknown that arose at the time. He really speaks perfect Spanish and that made our visit very enjoyable. Be sure to visit Florence with Francesca as your guide.
