Join Flagstaff Stargazing on a journey through the cosmos as we bring faraway galaxies, planets, and nebulae to you using telescopes, long exposure photography techniques, and the latest technology in deep space imaging. To start our evening, we will get everyone situated with a chair and hot drinks, connect your cell phones to our Stellina telescope, and get our 8" computerized Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope calibrated for the evening. While we wait for the images to "develop" from the first telescope, our trip through the cosmos will commence! Along the way we will be discussing ancient constellation mythology, modern astronomy, basic explanations of deep space objects such as galaxies and nebulae, and dark sky conservation topics. But all in all, our experience is designed to show our guests what true dark skies are all about. If you don’t know something needs protecting, you don’t know something needs protecting! To end our evening, you will get one of the most unique photos in the Southwest...standing under a sea of stars in one of the darkest skies in the Southwest. If you would like to bring your own photography equipment, we are happy to provide basic instruction to astrophotography and night-scape photography to help get you started! -If poor viewing conditions are presented, we will offer alternative dates or a refund.

This tour was very fun and informative. It was very interesting to hear some of the more interesting history of Flagstaff and to get to see the places we talked about as we went. Our tour guide, Revel, was wonderful. Very funny, very knowledgeable, and very kind. I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Flagstaff!

This was wonderful. The stories were interesting and Evan was so knowledgeable and nice. Being able to actually see a planet was a new experience for me. I can’t wait to see how the photos turn out!
