Five stars all the way! This experience was one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska. The nighttime dog mushing was an amazing way to see the dogs do what they love - running. The owner of the property and kennel was our musher. He called our Aurora experience a nighttime rainbow, which is the best way I know to describe the green light display we saw that night. There was another musher named Jody, who took the other couple on our tour out. Jody is a native Alaskan and had interesting stories to tell. The driver from our hotel and back, Joe, was from Alaska and told stories of his life growing up and living in AK. The food was good and the right amount for midnight meal. I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone considering a trip to Fairbanks. You don’t chase the northern lights on this tour, which we also did and also enjoyed. You do have a welcoming visit with Alaskans who want to welcome you to their home and their life.
Words can't describe how incredible this adventure was. Our driver was great. He was prompt with the pick-up. He also shared with us what to expect. The lights, I don't know how to put it into words. As for the dogsled portion. OMG, awesome to say the least. We are fairly well traveled and I can't think of anything that topped that experience. Much different than I thought it would be, but, it was incredible. Our musher was one of the nicest and most informative people I have met in a very long time. I believe his name was Driese. Some of you will see that the dinner has some harsh reviews. I can say, it was fine. Not the best, but, come on, what do you really expect. It may not be something you like, but, hey, the appetizers were awesome! The Salmon was sliced perfectly and the dried Salami was crazy good. Thank you
Our tour guide Joe was very good! The ice house/hotel was extraordinary with the best appletini! The hot springs were the best! We were able to see the lights in a favorite spot of Joe’s. It sure was nice having a warm van to stay in. The only problem we had was there was a two hour wait for dinner at the resort. The food was good. Service too. Just a long wait with little seating. Would highly recommend this tour.
It's a full day trip, very awesome. Our guide Randy a survivalist and very experienced guide was extremely knowledgeable about the pipeline, the Dalton highway, the area and the Aurora borealis, among other things. Very fun, a trip of a lifetime! I would really like to add a photo, but there is no option for that.
Joe picked my wife and I up at our hotel with a big smile and bunch of VERY interesting stories. He drove us to our destination where we met Anna our cook and had a delicious dinner. Although the light show did not cooperate we still enjoyed Joe and Anna's company and stories.
