The day was beautiful, and we decided that this type of tour was just what the three of us would enjoy, as we love nature, the water, and watching wildlife doing what comes natural to them. While gliding over the beautiful waters among the “10 thousand islands”, we saw herons, cormorants, osprey, plovers, great horned owl and others. Of course, excitement grew to laughter and awe seeing the bottlenose dolphins jumping and playing in our wake as our boat moved along the pristine waters of the Everglades. Our naturalist, “Captain Dan”, helped us to understand the rich history of the area, educate us about the mangroves, and provide insight to the various discoveries along our path. I think I can say with confidence that Dan shared his love and respect of the surroundings and enjoyed our time together as much as we did. Every experience is what you make it, and we had beautiful opportunities to make this experience one to remember.

Captain was real nice but his agenda was not just about the customer.

Captain did a good job getting up as close as he could to birds. He was very interesting with lots of great stories. But he was real proud of his captains license talking about it quite a bit and talking smack about his other captain who worked with him and I didn’t think that was very nice. He also wanted to stop at a island to check on his turtle nests which took away time from what I had paid for. He saw another boat ran aground on oyster shells and said he was obligated to check on them. It seemed he just wanted to see how big a idiot they were. It was nice he made sure they were not in distress, but again I didn’t pay for that as part of my tour. He was a great captain because storms brewed up and it took some fancy boat work to get us back safely which he did. Overall it was a great tour, but the things I mentioned just rubbed me the wrong way a little. I would go again. Oh!! Also, the tour ticket said it included a bottle of water and lunch. I didn’t get neither.

Best Day in the Everglades.

This was an exceptional tour with our guide, Dan. We have been on many eco-boat tours and this is by far the best experience. Our guide provided us with valuable information about this area of the Everglades -historical and natural. We saw many birds that we would not have seen by driving in our car or hiking trails. Dan was highly knowledgeable, personal and friendly. It was obvious that his main goal was to give us an incredible experience; a goal he easily accomplished.
