  • Oaxaca: Mixology Workshop with Organic Mezcal

    1. Oaxaca: Mixology Workshop with Organic Mezcal

Learn how to make cocktails in this workshop where your only limit is your imagination. Start the workshop by learning how to make your cocktail bases. As you’re mixing up a storm, you’ll hear about the history of mixology, its evolution, and the emerging trends in mixology. During the workshop, you’ll have access to a variety of organically grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, aromatic plants, flowers, branches, and exotic wood sticks. There’ll even be some insects available for the more daring in the group. Learn how to mix each ingredient with juice, alcohol, and syrups and create a tasty cocktail that is beautifully presented.

I would highly recommended this interactive experience while visiting Oaxaca. You do a mezcal tasting and learn about the unique and traditional ways it’s made. After the tasting, each person gets to make 3 different mezcal-based cocktails. This activity takes place at a beautiful lounge location and you will actually be behind a real bar with access to all the typical cocktail making tools. Our mezcal guide and cocktail-making instructor Andrea was great! She was very friendly and knowledgeable, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for all the participants.
