5. From Marrakech: Essaouira Full-Day Trip

Depart Marrakech in the morning and drive to the coastal resort of Essaouira to explore its rich culture and many art galleries. Admire the well-preserved buildings and get stunning views of the Atlantic coast. Experience the warm hospitality of the locals as soon as you arrive, and get an appreciation for their simple lifestyle. Stroll around the busy harbor and see the fishermen selling fresh fish direct from their traditional blue boats. Go to the fortified harbor Scala to take amazing photos of the monumental Bab al Mersa ("Door of the Port"). Then, explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the old seaside Medina. Wander the colorful souks and maze of alleys. Enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant, and then go to the old Jewish district to see the synagogues. Marvel at the cannons on the city ramparts before heading back to Marrakech at around 4:30 PM.

Our driver Abdelillah was so lovely! Always smiling and made us feel very welcome. The journey on the way there is broken up nicely with stops at a cafe, viewpoint and Argan oil cooperative. The scenery is beautiful and keeps you entertained for most of the time. We had around 3 hours to explore the medina after eating lunch. Which is so much more relaxed than Marrakech. Would recommend this tour if you want a day trip to the beach. However it was quite a lot cooler than Marrakech....24 degrees and cloudy. So you may want to take a coat and if you’re wanting to swim in the sea it is quite chilly!

We had an amazing trip to Essaouria with our tour guide Karim. The night before we were at a wedding until very late and we were so tired that we didn't want to go. But the trip was totally worth it!! First, Karim was an awesome guide! He was so chill, knowledgeable, and had traveled all around the world on amazing adventures. His stories were entertaining, to say the least! :D We stopped to snap a photo of the goats in the tree. When we got to Essaouira, we ate at a local cafe that served bread and the yummiest and most natural butter and honey. Then we checked out the beach with camels and kiteboarders. But due to the windy conditions, we settled on a more protected break and surfed for hours. Afterwards, we explored the town, which was beautiful and historical and down to earth. On the ride home, we stopped to watch the Fantasia for awhile. Both my husband and I LOVED it! <3

  • From Marrakech: Private Full-Day Essaouira Tour

    9. From Marrakech: Private Full-Day Essaouira Tour

Essaouira is the perfect destination for a day trip away from the hectic activity of Marrakech, with a vast array of things to do and try including: shopping in the souks for leatherwork, metalwork, glazed pottery, jewelry, brightly colored carpets, original art, olives, spices, rare argan oil and more. Glad to have chosen this activity. Essaouira is a very pretty city and the Game of Thrones themed (improvised) guided tour was great. The instructor was very kind and patient and always with a smile. They don't steal the hours! they always give a little more. I was there with my 13 and 9 year old daughters who after 20 minutes were surfing like pro! As for our guide, the high standard car, impeccable driving (we slept most of the way back) And what about a guide who offers you the typical breakfast of the country? Just top notch. Well done for this very professional service. Thanks again to Marrakech surf

An extraordinary trip, the driver was very entertaining and made us all a pleasant trip, we even had the opportunity to share a dinner at the end of the trip in a typical restaurant.
