What people are saying about Zakopane
Zakopane is beautiful with a lot of interesting sites. It is a long day, I would budget 12 hours and that is without traffic problems. I think they could eliminate a couple of stops and get you back a couple hours earlier and no one would have a problem. I was with a group of 7 I think the capacity is 8 (seats in van) so it is a nice small group.
A very enjoyable day! I loved Zakopane it is a beautiful town. It’s a pity the weather was misty and we couldn’t see the Tatra mountains! Never mind! Next time !
We met our guide Tomac at the tourist office in the main square and were told it was just us in the car - so in effect a private tour. Tomac was really knowledgeable and explained lots about the area. Zakopane had snow 2 days before so was really picturesque. We went up the funicular railway to the top where there were lots of xmas market stalls. We then met Tomac a couple of hours later and went into town where he dropped us off for another couple of hours. He then took us to the Olympic ski jumps and showed us the typical wooden houses on the way home. A full day out but really worth it.
My fiance and I went on tour with our friends for day out trips, it was great experience. Went to wood house first then walked to town of zakopane,we all had samples of local osycik salted sheep cheese with cranberry sauce it was delicious & went on funicular ride afterwards we all fancied to go thermal spa during snowing, it was best than go on coach trip. I would recommend this to my family and friends.
The driver was very polite and efficient . He was kind enough to call us and return a cap which one of our group had forgotten in the van.
