This was a magnificent experience - from pick up from hotel until return. Philippe's passion for his homeland & superb knowledge of the history of the area led to a very moving day experiencing the WW1 battlefields. He tailors the tour to suit the clients' nationalities & requests. Lovely lunch as well, with the Hooge museum & reconstructed trenches to visit. Many thanks for a memorable tour of the Fields of Flanders.
Although the subject matter of a tour of Flanders is sombre and sobering the tour by Phillippe whilst detailed and informative was delivered with just the right balance between respect and interesting and sometimes funny anecdotes. The day was also very well organised and proved to be thoroughly enjoyable and I would recommend it to everyone.
This is a journey which is well worth taking if you have an interest in WW1. Particularly if a family member or family friend was in this area. Wonderful to see the respect that is given to those laid to rest in the Cemetries by the attention and care given to the grounds.
The Guides Knowledge was Outstanding , they made every effort to add areas and points of interest to the Tour for everyone on the Tour. Local knowledge and stops along the way added to the Experience The Museum and Lunch stop was excellent , I would recommend this Tour.
Phillipe was a friendly, local, knowledgable tour guide with an obvious passion for World War 1 history. He made the tour come alive and his great sense of humour entertained us all day. The lunch provided was of a very good standard - healthy, fresh and satisfying.
