What people are saying about York
Went with a person using a wheelchair and had no problems. Staff were super helpful getting on and off with w decent view from the front of the boat. The low price makes the ride a must.
It was worth spending. Helen our guide was flexible and provided insightful information about the whole trip. Paul was a very polite and considerate driver. The van was comfy. Highly recommended!
I really enjoyed this boat ride, there is a bar on the boat and plenty of chairs inside and out. But what i liked most of all was the voice and personality of the captain and tour guide. He was hilarious, i found everything he said extremely comical even when he wasnt trying to be funny, or maybe he was im not sure. We got lucky so it was nice weather. But i really found it interesting and lovely. maybe 10 minutes longer than i would have liked but maybe thats because i was tired from walking all day
We felt so fortunate to have Alfred take us on a private tour. He is very knowledgeable and was so kind to allow time for our queries. Our tour actually went over the allotted time (because we wanted to know more, and asked a lot of questions, etc.) Alfred was very gracious and didn't seem to mind this. We can't express enough how special it is to have an expert tour guide take you around the marvelous city of York. There are very few places that exist where one can stand in one spot and learn about 2000 years worth of history just by turning around in a circle and noting every thing around you. But you need an expert to point all those special things out. *Ask for Alfred, you will be so pleased! :)
We went on the bus twice, once with the recorded voice for our tour guide and then a great young man. Both tours were interesting and had a fun element to them and they give us different information.
